Oh good, the dog found the chainsaw!
Progress this Week

Well, I'm still feeling motivated. Not even motivated, really, more like...normal. Surprisingly, I'm not having much, if any, difficulty keeping my eating in check. It may get harder later, but for now I'm just coasting along.
Starting tomorrow I'm going to be exercising at a friend's house. She has a ton of different videos, a treadmill (so jealous!), and some other various exercise equipment. She also has a trampoline, which I love oh-so-much, but it's put away right now. It will be neat to spend some time with her, and the exercise will be good for me.
As of today, I have lost 4 lbs. I'm pretty pleased. I don't want to lose it too fast, so anything more than that would probably be overkill, even for the first couple of weeks. After that, I am hoping for a level 2 lb. loss a week, although I realize that it doesn't always work out that way.
I don't think 4.5 lbs. is enough to make a difference in my physical appearance, but here's a progress photo anyway. (I took it myself, with some creative use of a divider ledge in the dining room/living room. It's kinda crappy, but it's hard to take a picture of yourself. Please ignore the mess in the house and my hair, hehe.)
So, I'm about 34.5 lbs away from my "I'd like to..." goal and about 20 lbs away from my "MUST lose" goal.
Thanks all, for your participation, comments, helpful tips, and support. I appreciate it.

I like your idea of a weight loss club...but I am not disciplined at counting calories AND am not really following a certain diet, so I might not be a very active member
. I am, however, doing exercise (intense yoga) an average of 3-4 times a week, and am trying to do some sort of food portion control. My goal is to lose about 20 lbs and get back down to a size 8 sometime. It may be a big size to some people, but to me, it is juuuust riiight. More importantly, I'd just simply like to feel healthier
Congrats on your progress so far...a 4lb loss is pretty good for the short amount of time you've been on this diet.

That's great Tex. You're doing well. Losing four pounds is awsome! Exercising with a buddy will definately be fun. I'm slowly getting back on that bandwagon again...I'm pained up right now, which usually happens after I've stopped working out for a couple of months and start up again.
Keep up the good work. Counting calories is not easy but you can do it!

You're doing great!! My inspiration!
I weigh in on Tuesdays, and this week posted a loss of two pounds. I was shocked... because most of last week was HORRID. Didn't work out at all, and ate lots of pizza. Not a good combination. LOL
On my weigh down.............

You're welcome to participate in whatever capacity you want.

You could be our exercise guru, hehe.

I think size 8 is wonderful! After having kids, I've never been smaller than a size 8 with the exception of a couple of items of clothes.
It's a healthy size, and I'm sure you'll look fantastic!

Thanks! It's not realistic (or healthy) to expect to keep up that rate of loss, but it's a nice jump start!

Haha...and she'll MAKE me do it!

Exercise is my biggest downfall. I'm not particularly athletic or active. Do you enjoy it?

Thanks for the encouragement! I know that after a while, I'll get used to eating like this, and it will be natural, so I won't have to count calories...I'll just "know".

Aw, thank you.

Congrats!! Excellent!

Haha. I'm with you on the pizza. I have to put toppings I don't like on all but half of one of the pizzas we order so that I can't do too much damage!
On my weigh down.............
A dieting pun! Hehe. Nice.

I can't post on here or my blog because JU is having some kind of glitch. It won't let me "complete step one" in choosing which one I want to blog on. Has anyone else experienced this?

alison: I'm sorry I'm not much help, but I've never had that happen to me, so I'm not sure what to do. I'm sure someone will happen upon this, though, who can help you out.

Got weighed and measured at Curves yesterday. In the past month they said I had lost 3 pounds, and 2 inches. I'll take it. I actually lost more, but then put some on before we started this diet blog. My body fat percentage decreased a tiny bit, but hey -- a loss is a loss, right?
