My third blog today, apologies.
After the ceremony, Adrian was able to come home from work for the day. We had lunch. I blogged. He watched TV.
At some point during our separate lounging we reached the consensus that we should have sex.
Right away.
We got upstairs and disrobed and played around and joked for a bit. We got distracted by children yelling outside, but decided that the mood hadn't passed yet and we should proceed with the plan.
Just as skin began to meet skin, the phone rang.
"Don't pick it up if it's not important," I said.
Adrian looked at the caller ID and noticed it was the hospital, so he answered.
"Hello?" he said.
He paused for a moment, and then handed the phone to me.
Laying there naked, I took the phone and tried to remain serious as I said, "Hello?"
It was our marriage counselor.
"Oh, hi Brandie. This is Theresa."
"Umm, OK, hi."
Pause.
"Was that Adrian?" she asked in a confused voice.
I looked at the clock and realized how early it was. I had to stifle a laugh.
Theresa has completed graduate school and will no longer be our counselor. She had recommended another counselor to us, and was calling to schedule an appointment.
She'll be passing her notes from all our session with her on to our new counselor.
How likely is it that she'll mention that when she called during the work day some strange man answered the phone? Hahahahaha...our new counselor is going to think I'm having an affair!
Hey, I told him not to answer the phone!
