'Cause I'm sunburned as hell...

What insane woman would take two boys and a baby girl camping all by herself?

What insane woman would forget toothbrushes, Cub Scout handbooks, and chairs?

What insane woman would try to fit a partially inflated full size mattress, a suitcase, a cooler, a duffel bag, a mini swing, a backpack, 3 pillows, one 9 year old, one 6 year old, one 4.999999 month old, and one XL 28 year old in a small $30 tent?

What insane woman would come Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday morning, sunburned and too exhausted to write a blog (but not too exhausted to post pics, LOL)?

Me!!!!

I'm so freakin' glad to be home.

PS - I didn't take pictures of most of the stuff.  Too busy with the baby.  But things happened.  These things varied from fun and exciting to boring and uncomfortable.  Too tired to elaborate.

cub scout handbook? hardly worth its weight as kindling.

from what i can see, you weren't out in a forest so it coulda been worse.

sorta looks like the kinda place dog the bounty hunter regularly shows up lookin to recapture some tweakers livin off the land (or, more precisely, livin on the beach).

good thing you got outta there before your kids wound up being deputized (as he gets closer to rounding up those miscreants he and his wife helped to put back on the streets, dog frequently begins recruiting passersby to bolster his forces, so maybe he aint really so dumb as he leads us to believe him to be).

You are very brave. I am willing to bet your kids loved it though!

Looks like fun! I wish I could go camping on the beach. Damn landlocked state!

No wolves or bears in Hawaii, though...that's probably a good thing.

I think it's cool that you took them camping all by yourself...don't know if I'd have that nerve. And the beach looks gorgeous!

kingbee: I'm so happy to see you here.

Their handbooks are pretty neat, and they are good for keeping track of badge and arrowpoint (or bead, for Tigers) work. I just can't manage to go anywhere without forgetting *something*.

LOL about Dog. We were on a private military beach, but I'm pretty sure he would have made a great guest speaker. Haha. I'll bet he's got a skill or two he could teach the boys.

I don't know if you ever went out to Waimanalo while you were here, but that's where we were (Bellows AFS portion of it).

Poison: Thanks. They had a good time, but are not pleased that I let them get sunburned (hey, I put sunscreen on them multiple times!).

SC: I will be sad when we don't live near a beach anymore. We actually don't go that often with Adrian gone, but it's always a treat. It is really beautiful here.

terpfan: LOL. The little red thingie was kind of in the way, but didn't you love that big chunk of hair sticking up in the back?

I am NOT one of those girls who wakes up looking all fresh and beautiful. Haha. I look ROUGH when I wake up!

LW: Thanks. I sometimes wonder if people find it annoying (and judging by the lack of comments typical for most of my posts, perhaps they do! ), so I'm glad you like it.

I hope next weekend involves some sleeping in. Isabella woke up at 6:30 am in this morning!

And to make things worse, I keep waking up at random times, trying to feed her, and she's stone cold asleep and doesn't need anything.

Zoo: Not unless you count all the Bear Scouts and Wolf Scouts at the camp out!

SHE: LOL, you know I never even saw the ocean until right before we moved here. I am definitely going to miss it!

InBloom: I don't know if I'm brave or stupid, haha, but I did call it quits mid-day Saturday instead of going home after everything was finished Sunday morning.

I was tired and I was worried about Izzy getting dehydrated. So we left a little early.

Bellows beach is spectacularly beautiful, with soft white sand and turquoise water. It's my favorite beach.

I think you're a great mom. I had a hard enough time going camping with a hubby and no baby. I have decided that I am now one of those wussy campers who needs a cabin or lodge. I pretend that I am nature girl but I want my comforts close to nature.
