I am a list-maker. I enjoy making lists, and I accomplish more when I have concrete direction. Lately, though, since my oldest child takes all the pens and loses them and takes all the notebooks and fills them up with comic book ideas and toy inventions, I have started keeping my lists internal.

My husband tells me that I have the memory of a goldfish. Hehe. So I usually forget a lot of what I set out to do. Here's my To Do List for the rest of today (we'll see how much of it I actually complete):

1. Mop the kitchen. My special income tax refund splurge was a Hoover Floor Mate Vacuum, and this thing makes doing the floors so much more pleasant.

2. Put away the dishes that are in the dishwasher. Because apparently no one else in the house knows how to do this. They just take all the dishes out and sit them on the counters. Thanks a lot, guys!

3. Wash all the breakfast and lunch dishes (I know, I know, I should have done this hours ago).

4. Put away the two-hampers-ful of laundry I folded today.

5. Dry, fold, and put away the laundry that I'm washing now. Why so much laundry, you ask? Because my husband wears three different outfits a day (PTs, BDUs, civvies), and I hate laundry way too much to stick with the load-a-day thing.

6. Feed and bathe my Nintendogs (they're going to run away if I don't).

7. Oh, yeah, bathe my actual child.

8. Clear all the Legos off the dining room table. No, wait...I'm not going to do that. Change that to "Make the kids clear all the Legos off the dining room table."

9. Help the kids fill out their Valentine's cards with the bizarre names of their classmates.

10. Make a yummy crab and shrimp casserole for supper (that the youngest won't eat and will probably splatter all over the rug in the dining room).

11. Which reminds me...Scoop the oatmeal out of the downstairs bathroom sink. Yes, oatmeal...in the sink. Don't ask.

And my oldest just informed me that the little one has smashed "fart juice" (Flarp...a gooey substance that can be squished and squeezed to make *hilarious* noises) into his shirt and their bedroom rug. Ugh. There's one more thing for my list. Try to get Flarp out of the carpet.

There's probably more I need to do...but with my goldfish-like memory, who knows what it is?

So, what's on your To Do List today?

So far I've...made a pot of coffee...had my youngest vacuum the living room...dug the oatmeal out of the bathroom sink (and got a great big hug from my kids while I was in there)...blowdried my hair...lotioned myself...drank two cups of coffee...and got a new high score on Hexic.

Sounds productive, no? Unfortunately only one of those things was on my list. Bummer.

Wow, your list sounds frighteningly similar to mine! BTW, might I suggest Goo-Gone for the flarp.

I did get dishes, laundry and some tidying done. Oversaw the boys doing their class valentines. Did projects for class with both of them. Spent time online of course. Talked to a friend on the phone. And last but certainly not least, got the boys bathed, brushed, read to and into bed. Now for a cup of tea and time to make a to-do list for tomorrow

1. Clean up the kitchen from yesterday's mess, neither one of us is feeling good yet.
2. Mop the kitchen floor~ that way I can spill more food!
3. Cook a traditional big Sunday breakfast~ did I mention we've been too sick to eat normally?
4. Eat ice cream and watch tv
5. Make a nice supper~ chicken and rice cooked in Cream of Chicken soup with real rice worked nicely.
6. Make sure to only do number 4 and and number 5!
7. OK I did all but mop the floor.

Your list is hilarious!

Mine too!! Today I felt like I was pretty productive. I put up a couple of shelves, cleaned out the linen/toiletry closet (tell me why do I think I need to keep the little last bit left in the shampoo bottles?? I had must have been 12 bottles of various shampoos and conditioners that was empty save for a half-assed squirt. WHY???

The sad thing is I'll probably continue to gather these things. I did do good today though and threw all the ones I found away!!

Good luck on yer list TW.

GTMA. Great Moms Think Alike. Hehe.

Thanks. I'll have to look for that. There's a few spots on the living room rug (which luckily is dark) that I could use that for, too. Do they carry it at Wal-Mart?

Nice. You sound more efficient than me...haha...I'm too easily distracted!

Now for a cup of tea and time to make a to-do list for tomorrow

Sounds good. I know what I'm doing tomorrow...getting a haircut and some blue highlights put in my hair. I'm looking forward to it.

I have such a hard time keeping the kitchen clean. It's a high-traffic area, and there's always someone eating something...or worse...making gooey brains with the Dr. Dreadful Food Lab.

6. Make sure to only do number 4 and and number 5!

There ya go. Hehe. Gotta rest if you want to get better!

7. OK I did all but mop the floor.

Nice. I am happy when I get all my chores done because it's so much less stressful when things are neat.

Your list is hilarious!

Glad you enjoyed it. I know it probably shouldn't, but some of my kids' messes really amuse me.

That is productive! Doesn't it feel great?

Yesterday I rearranged part of the living room...moved the futon and the computer desk and all that. My husband was impressed with how fast I was! I should get a raise. Hehe.

Hahahahhahahahaha. I'm the same way. When there's just a little bit left, I put them under the sink. I have like 8 bottles of nearly empty bubble bath and shampoo down there. I'm the same way with spaghetti sauce, too. And that's infinitely worse.

I did do good today though and threw all the ones I found away!!

*impressed*

Good luck on yer list TW.

Thanks! I did get the dishes put away and the dirty ones washed...and I'm working on supper. That's a little bit of progress at least.

Ahh..Sunday's to do list...nothing! I refuse to do stuff on Sunday unless I have to. Sunday is for rest and fun!
Monday thru Saturday...my list will be the same as all of yours, but for today...nothing but play!

Well its Monday here and I'm at work, so I guess I'll just have to say: try to stay awake at work. Hey, its a living
on Feb 13, 2006

It's Monday here too, and this is my list for today:

1.  Hoover and dust in the living room.

2. Sweep and run a damp mop over the kitchen and hallway floor (that's a daily chore; our kitchen and hallway are high traffic too and I try to do it every day so it stays clean and doesn't take much effort)

3. It's a Monday, which means changing the sheets on the beds.  I used to go and do the kids beds myself, but seeing as they're in charge of their own rooms now - and seeing as how I'm afraid of what I might find in their rooms - I now just leave a clean set of linens on top of their clean clothes and shove the whole basket inside the door so they'll fall over them as they go into their rooms (That way they can't say they never saw the clean linens and clothes).

4. Finish the laundry (There's not that much left to do)

5. While the laundry's doing it's thing, I'm going to finish the bootees I'm making for Shade's niece and hopefully make a start of the little jacket I'm secretly making for her too. (ssshhh...if you see her, don't tell!!)

6.  Make a concerted effort to corral and sort my out-of-control yarn stash that's creeping out from it's totes under my bed.  Actually, I think I'm going to go buy a couple more totes so that I can have more space for it....

And that's it.  That's all I'm doing today.  I refuse to do anything else...

Well, at least maybe moms with two boys think alike

Do they carry it at Wal-Mart?

I don't know. I think I got it at Target but I know they carry it in most craft stores too. It is awesome stuff!

I know what I'm doing tomorrow...getting a haircut and some blue highlights put in my hair. I'm looking forward to it.

I love getting my hair done. I find it very relaxing and I feel rejuvenated afterwards. Blue highlights sound awesome!

I don't make to do lists.  My life and schedule change too fast, and since I work full time, I have to just "do" and not "think" about things that need to be done.

However, I do make lists for dinner, or we'd have no idea what to eat at night or why I bought certain things.  Of course, I mess up now and then and forget to buy something then stare at the menu in disbelief, then eat peanut butter sandwiches and salads for dinner.

Goo gone is great stuff.  Even find a sticker that has been placed on the side of wood furniture and has been there for months?  Dab some goo gone on and let it sit, then wipe it off.  You will want to spot test on fabric or carpets unless they are light because it can change the color (found that out on some green carpet we used to have).  Spot Shot is also good for getting all sorts of stuff out of carpet.
