Yesterday Adrian shined up his black boots in preparation for work today. He spent a good amount of time on them, and when he was finished they were a perfect glossy black.
He was proud of his work, so he pulled on his black Army socks and laced his boots on and wore them around the house...with his khaki shorts and t-shirt.
Later we were all snuggled up on the couch watching Teen Titans and Adrian began playing around, saying, "Oh, baby...mmm...look at my boots...oh, yeah...look how shiny they are...mmmm...don't they look good?" I encouraged him with some "oohs" and "aaahhs." We play around like this all the time because we're silly like that.
My seven year old got a disturbed look on his face.
"What's wrong, baby?" I asked him.
"I can't say," he replied.
"Sure you can. What's on your mind?"
He frowned for a moment and then responded, "I know where this is leading..."
"What? What do you mean? What's leading where? Huh?"
Looking at the floor, he said, "I can't say."
I spent several minutes coaxing him into finishing out his thought.
In barely a whisper, he spelled out, "S - E - X"
Hahahhahhaa...now that's a savvy little seven year old. I laughed so hard while trying to explain that mommy and daddy were just joking about the boots, but that sex is ok and normal for mommies and daddies.
Poor kid.
