Yesterday I got to meet my second JoeUser.

Locamama and her brood and me and my brood met up at the Fort Worth Science and History museum to check out the Star Wars exhibit.

The place was paaaaaacked. I didn't know if I would be able to find Amy because I had never seen a photo of her before. And neither have any of you...until now!

So I stood in the entrance looking squinty and stupid, trying to sleuth out someone both loca and a mama. The line for tickets twisted, turned, and then made its way down a long hall. I was beginning to worry that I would never find her when she shouted out my name. And lucky for me she was near the front of the line.

Evil JoeUser women that we are, she suggested I cut in line and I agreed. I covertly slid my stroller under the rope, then ducked under followed by my two boys. I waited for the bitching, but it never came. Awesome.

Amy, Locamama, is gorgeous! I did expect her to be cute because all her blogs are so sweet and cute, and I wasn't disappointed. She's a shorty, though, haha. Her boys are adorable kids and they were so well-behaved.

In contrast, my boys (especially my oldest) were disgruntled and apathetic the entire time. Apparently the fiasco began with me UNFAIRLY reducing their souvenir money due to some fight-y behavior. Xavier felt persecuted and circled "Embarrass Mom" on his mental to-do list with red ink. Now, my children's well-being is more important to me than what another adult thinks of me as a parent and a person. I probably could have beat him into submission with one of those museum listening cones, but I didn't.

HOWEVER, despite my not caring what other people think, I was pretty embarrassed for Amy to witness the antics. And especially since her kids were being so darn good. But that's ok. She still loves me.

The museum was really crowded, but we still had fun. It was really great to talk to her. We have a lot of similar life experiences, being military spouses and raising our boys, so I felt very comfortable talking to her about anything and everything. Amy is one funny chick. Slightly evil, but super funny. Haha.

I made some stupid comments, but honestly, it was TOTALLY on purpose. I really did know that one robot guy wasn't General Grievous. I was just testing her. I swear! And I really don't dress my children up in costumes for Christmas. That was a joke. An intended joke. What?!?

The highlight of the museum visit came when I nearly had to choke a guy out for touching my kid. What kind of grown man pushes a child out of the way so he can read a 30 word blurb about a piece of Star Wars memorabilia? The kind of grown man who wants me to smack him around, that's what kind.

Annnnnyways, I had a great time with Amy. She is everything she seems on JU and more. She is beautiful, witty, and sweet and lots of fun. And yes, we did talk about you guys.

Next time we meet up, it's margaritas and NO KIDS!! Haha.

And since it's just not a Texas Wahine blog without a slideshow, here you go:

You are the net-mate meeting machine!!!!! We're totally meeting up while I'm in Hawaii.

I love the pics. I wish I could go to the Star Wars museum.

SC: Haha. I totally am. As of this morning I have met 5 "internet friends" IRL. No one has murdered me yet, so it's going pretty well I think.

The SW museum exhibit was pretty cool. It would have been way cooler if I remembered a fraction of the characters or events in the movies.

Amy's a frickin' SW dork, though. Sorry, it had to be said.

Better than the naysayers want you to think, at least. I remember all the stories of "People get killed by netizens" back when social networking just started. Looks like you've avoided them, at any rate.

I sure hope we can meet up some day.  I think our boys and girls would really click well as I'm certain we would.  They are all growing so fast!

My boys are so totally into SW!  Ryan just had his 7th bday and he got both the Sand Crawler and Y-Wing Lego sets and they're built already!  The Sand Crawler had over 1600 pieces!

Both of you ladies look beautiful and it looks like you all (Ya'll there in TX) had a great time.  Thanks for sharing the fab photos.  I still owe you one of Ashley in her Hawaiian outfit that you sent.

It was so much fun to meet you. I think we are on the same wavelength which is cool. I was nervous to meet you. I felt like I was going on a blind date. Will she like me IRL? What should I wear? It's weird that you feel like you know someone but you have never met them for real. I did have the advantage because I already knew what you look like.

Your kids were great. Isabella is so chubby and cute. (I tried to work a trade three wild boys for one sweet girl but for some reason she didn't want to go for it) Xavier drew me a picture of a robot before he decided to get moody. Plus I learned lots of new Joemamma jokes from him. Orion didn't talk to me too much except to make sure you were coming back when he was waiting to ride the "hovercraft" but he's a cutie. My kids aren't angels, just luckily they were distracted. She didn't mention that I threated to feed them liver and onions instead of McDonalds if they didn't behave. I definately got to see the TexWahine mamma bear come out when that guy tried to "move" her child. She is such a great mommy and I think has a lot more patience than me.

You really should have had a movie marathon star wars DVD session before the museum. Luckily you had me as your tour guide. The funniest thing was when Brandie pulled out this piece of fabric when we got to the Star Wars exhibit and said we have to wait a minute. I thought she was putting on a costume. I was sure she was as big of a Star Wars geek as me then but she just wound it up all over herself to hold her baby. I missed my golden opportunity to wear a Princess Leia costume. I wonder what she would have thought if I told her I would be the one dressed up like Princess Leia in a gold bikini? I wonder if she would have suddenly had other plans?

Amy's a frickin' SW dork, though. Sorry, it had to be said.

You're just jealous that you couldn't quote lines from the movie like me. I think I might really get that Yoda backpack even though my boys said that they would not want to walk around with me while wearing it. It's the cutest thing. It looks like you're giving Yoda a piggyback ride. I had to get the pin "Look at me... Judge me by my size do you?" said in my best Yoda voice which I spared Brandie the opportunity of seeing how huge of a dork I can be. I did have to use the force to operate her camera though.

Well I got to meet Tova, aka Tonya and that was a lot of fun. If all goes well I'll see her again in the fall. She got to meet me, my husband and youngest son. Actually she's also met my middle son, his wife and new baby as they live right near each other. Hopefully I will be able to meet her family next time. It is alot of fun to be able to meet a jJU friend on the "other side" of the computer.

Glad you two had fun. TW, awesome slideshow. I enjoyed it.

Neat-o!

As usual I'm totally going to change the subject. Can you tell me about that "piece of fabric" you were carrying Isabella in? It looks comfy & versatile.

You can still go. It's on until September. I think you would get a kick out of it. They have actual props from the movies.

If more pretty girls felt like they could be geeky and uncool, high school would've been that much better for me. Out of the two geeky groups I hung out with, there was one(1) girl.

Actually, there were geeky and uncool girls around, but they were more the scholarly geeky kind instead of the Star Wars geeky kind. Always studying, no time for a social life. Probably in band because it might get them a scholarship, and I can't play an instrument. Man.

Glad you all had fun, and nobody got killed. Death tends to be a real downer to blog about.
